Hush and Grandma Poss of Possum Magic fame will make their debut at this years Credit Union Christmas Pageant!
Launching the brand new float, Credit Union Christmas Pageant Event Director, Brian Gilbertson, said the inclusion of Possum Magic is an event first.
“We are very fortunate to be able to showcase Possum Magic’s much loved characters as part of the magic of our iconic event,” said Gilbertson.
“All the hard work by our artists and production team, and the ongoing liaison with author Mem Fox and illustrator Julie Vivas, has made this dream a reality.
“The theme for this year’s Credit Union Christmas Pageant is ‘Together we can make magic’ so there was no better way to see the magic that this float will bring to the event than by showcasing it to primary school children today.”
Mem Fox is Australia’s most highly regarded picture-book author. Her first book, Possum Magic, was published in 1983. It has gone on to become – and still remains – the most recognised, bestselling and best-loved picture book in this country.
“Possum Magic has had a lot of firsts in its time but never the thrilling opportunity to be part of the famous Credit Union Christmas Pageant,” Mem Fox said.
