Polls Open For Adelaide Festival Centre Walk Of Fame Star

The public vote is open for the 2017 star on the Adelaide Festival Centre Walk of Fame and South Australians are encouraged to help select the next artist to have their name set in lights on the star-studded walkway.

The public vote is open for the 2017 star on the Adelaide Festival Centre Walk of Fame and South Australians are encouraged to help select the next artist to have their name set in lights on the star-studded walkway.
A shortlist of 75 of the finest performers, directors, musicians, designers and playwrights who performed at Adelaide Festival Centre in 2017 includes Bridget Everett, David Attenborough, Eddie Perfect, Michael Griffiths, Miriam Margolyes and Thelma Plum. Each has been handpicked by Adelaide Festival Centre’s Performing Arts Collection.
Adelaide Festival Centre’s Walk of Fame features more than 130 names of some of the great artists who have graced the stages of Adelaide Festival Centre since it opened in 1973. Each year three stars are added to the walkway – in addition to the public choice, two more stars are selected by Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and a panel of arts critics.
Douglas Gautier, Adelaide Festival Centre CEO & Artistic Director: “This year’s Walk of Fame nominees represent the calibre and diversity of artists and creatives who performed here last year and we’re really looking forward to seeing who the public selects from this impressive shortlist. The Walk of Fame connects our venues along the new northern promenade and celebrates Adelaide Festival Centre’s 45 year history and the artists who have helped make this place a terrific creative hub.”
Vote online at adelaidefestivalcentre.com.au/walk-of-fame and via the Adelaide Festival Centre app which features an interactive Walk of Fame experience.
Each voter will enter into a competition for the chance to win an Adelaide Festival Centre Season Package.
Voting closes Saturday 11 August 2018.
