Thirsty Merc Will Rock Out At Salisbury Secret Garden This Fringe!

Thirsty Merc are taking the stage as part of the Fringe Festival in an FREE (yep, you heard that right) concert!

The hugely popular Australian band Thirsty Merc will rock the stage at a FREE community concert that headlines almost two weeks of entertainment at the 2017 Salisbury Secret Garden as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Salisbury Secret Garden – the Northern Hub of the Adelaide Fringe – is a 10-day event kicking off on Friday 24 February 2017. The event will be bringing more than 100 free and ticketed shows to Northern Adelaide.

Mayor Gillian Aldridge launched the 2017 Event Program at John Harvey Gallery this morning. “With so many great shows and venues all within a five minute walk of our City Centre – Salisbury Secret Garden is sure to have something for everyone,” Mayor Aldridge said.

Civic Square is the place to be in Salisbury during the Secret Garden with free family events, live performances, show previews, food and activities including:

  • Showcase and Outdoor Cinema (Friday 24 February 4.30pm to late): A fun filled family evening featuring live music performances, activities and food, and a family film under the stars.
  • Sounds in the Square (Saturday 25 February 4.30pm to late): Thirsty Merc headline the night with their songs including ’20 Good Reasons’, ‘In the Summertime’ and ‘Someday Someday’. Local musicians will also take to the stage to perform in this one-off FREE night of music.
  • Big Bands in the Square (Sunday 26 February 1pm to 5pm): The Band of South Australia Police will delight audiences with their fun and entertaining music. Other local bands including Salisbury City Band, Para Hills Brass Band and local schools will provide an afternoon of music and entertainment.
  • Showcase and Outdoor Cinema (Friday 3 March 4.30pm to late): Music, entertainment and laughs for the whole family. The evening will finish with a family friendly film under the stars.
  • World Music in the Square (Saturday 4 March 4.30pm to late): Celebrate our diverse culture, be moved by music and dance from around the world. Enjoy the sound of drums from Africa to the didgeridoo of Australia. Taste great multicultural food, and enjoy activities and market stalls.
  • Family Fun Day (Sunday 5 March 1pm to 5pm): Back by popular demand, a fun filled afternoon with so much for the whole family. Live performances, great food and activities.
