Barossa Wine Cartel launches an exclusive, intimate wine tasting room

Words: Katelin Rice

Give your day trip to SA’s best wine region a little extra character with Barossa Wine Cartel’s intimate wine tasting room, open to visitors for the very first time.

The cellar door in Greenock, located in the heart of founders Josh Pfeiffer and wife Ellen’s 1840’s Barossa home, is offering intimate tastings for groups of 6-10 people by appointment only.

“We’ve had such demand from our customers to have a place for them to try our wines and buy them in person, so offering tastings was the obvious next step. We’ve converted one of the rooms in the home, which is one of the oldest buildings into the Barossa Valley, into a tasting room. It’s a unique experience and different to most,” Josh says.

It’s exciting news for wine aficionados and enthusiasts alike who love products made from certified and biodynamic grapes.

The ‘bloody good booze’ is made from grapes sourced from around the Barossa and then taken from vine to glass by Josh who previously worked for some of SA’s most notable wineries. They’re also offering a range of non-alcoholic wines which have grown astronomically in popularity and now a category of its own.

“We’re making close to 10 times the volume this year compared to last year. Previously our non-alcoholic Rosé sold out so quickly,” Josh says.

While the vegan wines are already available for purchase in many of Adelaide’s boutique bottle shops, including St Peter’s Cellars and Parade Cellars, you can now purchase them directly from the makers in person.

“We just really wanted to be able to build relationships with our customers face to face and now we’ve created such a welcoming environment to do that,” says Josh.
