The weather might be cold but Port Adelaide is heating up, as it gears up to host its first winter festival to celebrate creativity and community in the cooler months. So pull out your woollies and get ready for a winter wonderland complete with roaring fires, lights, an outdoor skating rink, and Northern European-style hearty food and mulled wine at the Our Port Winterfest from 14-23 July.
The historic Hart’s Mill will house the ice-skating rink, winter markets, live music, kids’ activities, shows, workshops, and delicious winter food and drink.
Once you’ve had a skate, snuggle up by the fires, sip mulled wine and listen to jazz and blues while the kids are entertained by one of the many shows or activity sessions available.
Grab a feast of local, hearty, winter warming food and peruse the markets where you’ll find handmade local arts and crafts, and delicious local produce.
Not only will this be a marvellous family day out, but there will be something just for the adults too; with grown up winter workshops and evening acts (not for little eyes.)
Winterfest will be presented by Renewal SA in partnership with local traders and will build on the success of the Wonderwalls festival at the Port in April, which attracted 15,000 people over two days to view huge original artworks painted on buildings.
With different shows and activities on daily, roving performers, live music, ice-skating and more there’ll be a different experience for the whole family to enjoy. Some of the great local businesses will be offering up extra Winterfest deals too, so keep an eye out when you’re strolling through Port Adelaide.

Forty-five minute skating sessions will be held on the hour, every hour, commencing from 10.00am with the last session starting at 9.00pm.
