New Peppers Hotel Raises The Bar On Inner City Stays

Peppers on Waymouth, formerly Rendezvous Hotel, has taken a fresh and exciting new approach to inner city accommodation, with a very heavy focus on food and wine (some of our favourite things!)

With all that’s going on in our bustling little city at the moment (and coming up for that matter) sometimes it’s nice to have a little inner city escape. Or perhaps you have relatives coming to stay, and you need somewhere more elegant for them to sleep than bunk beds or on your fold out couch. What about interstate clients arriving that you need accommodation for, somewhere you can trust will treat them like royalty? Whatever the situation at hand, there’s a new kid on the hotel block and they’re here to impress.

Peppers on Waymouth, formerly Rendezvous Hotel, has taken a fresh and exciting new approach to inner city accommodation, with a very heavy focus on food and wine (some of our favourite things!)

The Glam team were lucky enough to test the waters of this at the hotel’s Grand Opening Event last week. Chef Zach Riemersma treated guests to an array of local produce including Woodside Chevre from the Adelaide Hills; South Australian Blue Swimmer Crab Ceviche; Clare Valley Gold Seared Beef and Smoked Kangaroo from the Barossa Valley, all accompanied by local wines from Yalumba. And that isn’t even everything we tasted, they were just our faves! It was all spectacular and the service that accompanied it was second to none.

But it’s not just within the walls of the hotel that Peppers will be exploring its passion for food and wine… They’re keen to expand, showcasing the abundant talent we’re so lucky to have here in SA.

“We are looking forward to a long and happy partnership with all things gourmet and see the hotel becoming involved in the local food and wine related events and festivals on the tourism calendar,” said Peppers General Manager, Victor Faisca.

The hotel offers 202 five-star hotel rooms and suites, two food and beverage outlets – The Cafe and Lounge 55; a heated indoor lap pool, spa, sauna, and fitness centre. For meetings, events and private functions the 120 square metre conference room caters for up to 150 guests (cocktail) and can be divided into two smaller rooms. Plus it’s located perfectly on Waymouth St; a stones throw from bars and restaurants in Topham Mall, Leigh St and Peel St and Waymouth St and, of course, our Waymouth favourites Bistro Dom, Georges on Waymouth and Press*.

We took a little tour of the beautiful hotel and were blown away by the exquisite rooms and decor. This combined with the high standard of the attentive staff we met on the evening can only mean great things for Peppers on Waymouth.

Peppers’ hotel history began with a series of five star boutique hotels in regional areas. This history has built such a strong foundation in the industry and even though they have expanded to a bigger, more commercial scale, they still haven’t lost that wonderful element of the personal touch.

If you’re looking for somewhere new and fresh to stay, in a perfect location in the CBD we’d urge you to look no further than Peppers On Waymouth. We can’t wait for the future of this fabulous location, and of course to follow them on their food and wine journey.
