After two years in the making, fans of Andre’s Cucina & Polenta Bar can finally say hello to Orso + Willmott’s Gastronomia.

After two years in the making, fans of Andre’s Cucina & Polenta bar can finally say hello to Orso + Willmott’s Gastronomia.

The two-in-one venue finds home in a hundred-year-old, heritage front building, meaning the place has plenty of character and a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for intimate family gatherings or quick, but cosy catch-ups with friends.

Graciously named after the family who used to own the building, Willmott’s Gastronomia promises a comfortable perching space where you can grab a quick bite to eat for brekkie, lunch, or dinner, anytime from 9am till late on Tuesday to Saturday and 5pm till late on Sunday. Relax with a drink in hand or watch as the chefs behind the bar pop the finishing touches on each dish before sending them out.

Willmott’s Gastronomia will also have a paddock to plate focus, so you can expect the shelves will be lined with cheese, homemade preserves, and pickles, the ingredients of which are cultivated on André Ursini’s Mylor farmland, for your eating in or purchasing pleasure.

Looking for a sit down dining experience? Orso is the restaurant section of the venue, delivering modern European bistro dining from its open plan kitchen. The restaurant boasts a high bench for dining with a view right into the kitchen and a large fire pit to warm your hands after you fill your belly.

Orso is made up of multiple dining rooms with varying degrees of privacy, plus an upstairs function room and an alfresco patio out the back for those approaching balmy, summer evenings. It’s got a little something for everyone, no matter what you may be looking for.

There’s a large team of enthusiastic hard workers behind the launch of Orso + Willmott’s Gastronomia and they can’t wait to share their labour of love with you.

While the soft launch happens this week, Orso + Willmott’s Gastronomia goes live to the public next week on Tuesday, November 27.
