From the chefs that brought us Fried Ice cream and Vegan Bombe Alaska, Quang Nguyen alongside partner Thy Nguyen are back at it again with their new dessert bar Shibui, which opened over the weekend in Adelaide’s CBD.
After first appearing on our radar with Richmond’s Devour cafe and patisserie, Quang and Thy’s new venue, Shibui dessert bar, is the perfect place for anyone in Adelaide with a sweet tooth to try something new.
Speaking with Glam Adelaide, the business owners have said, “Shibui Dessert Bar is the older, more sophisticated sibling of Devour Dessert Bar. Shibui will be a blend of the best elements that Devour Dessert Bar had, as well as some exciting new concepts”.
With new, delicious looking desserts and dishes to try, this city dessert bar is a must for dessert lovers. From Mandarin Cheesecakes to Donut Sundaes, Shibui have our mouths watering.
Co-owner Thy has said, “You can expect to see some of our cult favourites like our Lemon Meringue Pie, Donut Sundae and Banana Caramel Popcorn desserts. However, we have been working on some new, never been seen before dishes as well. Our aim is see as many ‘happy food faces’ (as we like to nickname it) as possible”.
The dessert bar is located on 2/160 in Grote Street, in the heart of the city. The owners have said that initially the dessert bar will be open five nights a week and will eventually work to opening more. Initial opening hours are listed below.
Wed & Thu: 6pm–10.30pm
Fri & Sat: 6pm–11.30pm
Sun: 6pm–10.30pm
