Monday 19th April events at Special Olympics Australia IX National Games

With the remaining teams from Queensland and Victoria arriving at the Olympic Village in Adelaide Shores the excitement is building for the Special Olympics Australia IX National Games.
‘The Healthy Athlete Program went well yesterday with over 100 athletes from Tasmania and ACT being screened,’ comments Jenny Daly, Games Director. ‘Today we welcome the teams from Victorian and Queensland before heading to the Dome for the official opening ceremony.’
‘We look forward to the sports competitions commencing on Tuesday and hope the athletes enjoy the Games and remember the athlete’s oath ‘Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt,’ she says.

The South Australian Team will be participating in the Law Enforcement Torch Run, Run with the Law:
Stage 14 – 19 April – Adelaide CBD – commencing 9.00 am at Adelaide Zoo
