Modern Magician Wins Magical Mentorship For 2019 Fringe Fest

Magician Dom Chambers has won a magical mentorship and grant that helps emerging artists reach their potential, so you can expect bigger and better acts as part of your next Fringe fest experience!

You may think it’s too early to start preparing for next year’s Adelaide Fringe festival, but you’d be wrong! Award-winning South Australian magician Matt Tarrant has created a grant that helps emerging artists reach their potential, so you can expect bigger and better acts as part of our next Fringe fest!

This year he’ll be working with Victorian magician Dom Chambers to grow and develop his craft, which includes a mix of his viral internet videos and artistic live performances. His modern take on magic, creativity, and innovation was what drew Tarrant to award him the grant this year and the two will be working together in the lead-up to his 2019 Adelaide Fringe performance to create something truly unforgettable and magical!

Tarrant was so inspired by the amount of Aussie talent that he decided to extended the mentorship program to include support for an additional three applicants – theatrical burlesque performer Brodie Turner, queer sketch comedian Colwyn Buckland, and Tasma Jefferies (SA represent!) from Vertical Insanity Circus.

What this all means is you can look forward to a number of old faves returning looking glitering new with fresh skills and more experience up their sleeves! We can’t wait to see what they’ll pull out the hat next!
