Eladio hails from Southern Spain and we were lucky enough to hear from the man himself (dishy Spanish accent and all) about the menu that he has put together.

We were treated to all of the tastes of summer throughout the evening starting with 4 tapas dishes including Spencer Gulf prawns, natural oysters, cured ham and marinated beef. It was all so tasty and the share platters in the middle of the table had everyone talking. To follow were a selection of Raciones or bigger bites which were caramelised red capsicum filled with rocket salad and manchego cheese, lamb ribs with garlic potatoes and then lightly fried potatoes with spicy tomato sauce, absolutely scrumptious.

Just when we were starting to fill up out came the largest pan of paella I have ever seen.

To finish the amazing feast we were each given petit fours of pistachio tart and coffee sabayon.

I have always enjoyed the food at Mesa Lunga but to have the menu chosen for you by the chef himself was a real treat.

Mesa Lunga is a must this summer, and don’t forget to look out for the lovely Eladio in the kitchen.
