Massive Plans Announced For New Adelaide Airport, Plus Huge Updates To SA Rail And Road Network

Today State Liberal Leader, Stephen Marshall MP has announced a plan that, if it goes ahead, will reshape the South Australian landscape. Literally.

Today State Liberal Leader, Stephen Marshall MP has announced a plan that, if it goes ahead, will reshape the South Australian landscape. Literally.
It’s called Globe Link – a generational upgrade to South Australia’s rail and road network. The new proposed network will include a bypass that diverts heavy trucks around the Adelaide Hills, taking them off busy metropolitan roads and the South Eastern Freeway.
Freight trains will be taken out of the Adelaide Hills and metropolitan suburbs, easing traffic congestion and creating quieter neighbourhoods.
At the heart of Globe Link is a new 24 hour freight only airport that will allow South Australian businesses to export goods faster to the rest of the world.

Marshall says that Globe Link is about creating jobs and supporting businesses. It’s about improving road and rail safety and easing congestion.
