World’s Greatest Art Exhibitions Arrive in Adelaide

The 2016 season of Exhibition on Screen commences on 26 March 2016 and will bring to the cinema screen three of the world’s great art exhibitions for Adelaide audiences to enjoy.

Filmed exclusively for cinema at the exhibitions and on location, this ground-breaking series allows art lovers worldwide to enjoy, marvel and delight at the works of some of history’s greatest ever painters on the big screen, in stunning high definition.

Exhibition on Screen is the originator and market leader for bringing blockbuster art exhibitions from galleries around the world to cinemas. Intertwined with artist biographies and unprecedented behind the-scenes footage from the galleries, the films are informative, accessible, intelligent and entertaining.

Screening exclusively at the Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas, the 2016 season will present three new titles:

Goya: Visions of Flesh and Blood

Francisco Goya is Spain’s most celebrated artist and considered the father of modern art. Goya takes the genre of portraiture to new heights and his genius is reappraised in a landmark exhibition at The National Gallery, London.

Renoir – Reviled and Revered
From the Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia.
Season commences 16 April 2016
He was an artist that was instrumental in creating the Impressionist movement and then totally rejected it and went in a completely new direction – with extraordinary results.

Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse
From the Royal Academy of Arts, London & the Cleveland Museum of Art
Season commences 28 May 2016
Monet was an avid horticulturist and arguably the most important painter of gardens in the history of art but he was not alone. Artists like Van Gogh, Bonnard, Pissarro and Matisse all saw the garden as a powerful subject for their art.

Distributed by Sharmill Films and produced by award-winning director, Phil Grabsky, the upcoming season of Exhibition on Screen follows the success of previous titles which screened to over 1,300 cinemas across more than 40 countries.
