Word Nerd X Beauty Pageant; The Thought Provoking And Hilarious Fringe Show You Need To See

Forget Toddlers and Tiaras, get yourself tickets to see Poet Vs Pageant at this year’s Fringe…

We have all seen that show Toddlers and Tiaras. Or maybe you have watched the televised airing of a Miss Universe Pageant before? Love them or hate them, there is something annoyingly intriguing about that world of beauty and ‘perfection’. And one Fringe act this year is asking us all a question…

What will happen when a socially incapable word nerd dives head first into the perilous seas of a beauty pageant?

Poet Vs Pageant, featuring Poet Laureate Telia Nevile explores this in the funniest way. The audience will be transported by a tale about outer change and its inner cost, told in epic poetic style. With added sequins.

Award winning writer and performer Telia Nevile is coming back to Adelaide Fringe with a hero’s journey full of blood, sweat and tans, cheerleading routines and unexpected transformation.

Come gasp at the hidden shoals of the Swimsuit Round, cheer on the hair raising offerings of the Talent Section, and hang on for dear life during the Crowning Ceremony because everything’s on the line now.

According to Nevile, “this show is my most ambitious project to date and I’m really excited to share it with Fringe audiences. Poet Vs Pageant is dedicated to the awkward outsider in all of us.”

Following in the perfectly manicured footsteps of poetic epics such as The Odyssey and The Iliad, Poet Vs Pageant is definitely a must see show for lovers of an emotional, intelligent and funny performance. We already have our tickets!
