A winter art market, created through a collaboration between Nove on Luce Espresso Bar and the Adelaide Art Walk, will kick off on Friday 7 August at 2pm as part of this year’s SALA Festival.
Supported by Splash Adelaide, the Market will showcase locally created fine art, handcrafted bags, jewellery, plants and home décor.
Lord Mayor Martin Haese said the Winter Art Market will complement the West End Art Walk and other SALA events in bringing the west end of the city alive with colour.
“One of the things I think is really terrific about our city is the way people openly collaborate and work together to create events that are accessible to everyone.
“Programs such as Splash Adelaide and Council’s placemaking team provide opportunities for likeminded people to meet and assist each other in turning an idea into a practical reality,” said Martin.
Manager of Nove on Luce Espresso Bar, Annette Simmons said she going to Splash events in the past and following Splash on social media encouraged her to apply for Splash support after attending a Placemaking meeting about Hindley West.
“My Splash Adelaide coordinator has been great support with sound advice and encouragement which has made the whole process a lot easier than I imagined.
“Grace Coy, who runs Adelaide Art Walk, and I have collaborated to bring both events together on the same weekend,” said Annette.
The Art Market will also showcase great live entertainment and a henna artist will be doing complementary henna samples.
