Winery Music Festival Line Up Is Completed

By Australian music heavyweights British India and The Potbelleez no less… in addition to The Veronicas and Killing Heidi. It’s looking the goods.

The Handpicked Festival have done well for themselves over the last few years. The Lake Breeze Winery down at Langhorne Creek is pretty flawless setting for a music event, with views to die for and endless vineyards to explore alongside the entertainment, food and wine. Previously they’ve attracted the likes of Birds Of Tokyo, Sheppard, Conrad Sewell and Dan Sultan to perform, and they’ve continued with the pop heavy hitters for 2016.

ARIA Winners and international darlings The Veronicas have been announced as the headline this year, to be joined by Killing Heidi for their first live shows in over a decade. And they’ll now be joined by British India and The Potbeleez, classic Big Day Out stalwarts who round out what is a pretty damn great line up of Australian music.

British India are definitely at the peak of their career with the release of their latest single, I Thought We Knew Each Other, and backed with an arsenal of five full length albums, these Melbourne rockers are again set to take on the world and the biggest festival stages. Also on a major upward trajectory from the release of their newest stadium anthem, Horney, ARIA nominated electro kings The Potbelleez return to Australia after twelve months globe trotting, writing and recording new material. Boasting nearly a million single and album sales in Australia alone, The Potbelleez are no stranger to the big stage and promise to get the Handpicked masses dancing into the night.

Also announced on the line up is local Adelaide singer songwriter, Thom Lion and his band The Tamers. Lion spent 2015 playing major Aussie stages with the likes of The Rubens, The Waifs and Saskwatch, and was
recently named by the AU Review as one of South Australia’s top 5 emerging artists. Local rising star, Jesse Davidson, songstress Sasha March, and eccentric cross genre trio, Tympano, round out this afternoon.

Kate Cooper, Event Manager for Handpicked Festival’s and Lake Breeze Wines previous revealed that for the first time, Handpicked will offer onsite camping this year. The Handpicked Tent City will have space for upwards of 500 campers, the new initiative has been developed to allow festivalgoers the opportunity to attend the festival and stay the night onsite and drive home safe in the morning. Spots are already filling up quickly too!

Also new to the festival in 2016 is Tasting Trail, a gastronomic spread showcasing Langhorne Creek’s intentionally acclimated range of fresh produce alongside Lake Breeze’s renowned collection of wines. The Lane, Handpicked Festival’s market place will also return in 2016, exhibiting a diverse range of South Australia’s arts, crafts, jewelry, and home wares.

Handpicked festival is quickly becoming one of regional South Australia’s swiftest growing cultural events. Only 15 minutes south of Strathalbyn, South Australia, Handpicked is a complete sensory experience based at the award winning Lake Breeze Winery nestled within the picturesque landscape of the Langhorne Creek wine region.
