Indulge In A Night At The Opera In Adelaide!

You are invited to witness the official gala opening of the La Scala season, one of Europe’s most highly anticipated cultural events, this year featuring Moshe Leiser & Patrice Caurier’s staging of Verdi’s opera, Giovanna d’Arco.

Based on one of France’s most romantic stories, that of Joan of Arc, this star-studded new production features Anna Netrebko as the heroic Giovanna, Devid Cecconi as her father Giocomo and Francesco Meli as Carlo VII, King of France. La Scala’s Principal Conductor Riccardo Chailly conducts.

Palace Opera & Ballet is bringing this sensational production to Adelaide on the big screen for four shows only, from 12-17 February 2016. Recorded on 7 December last year in front of an audience including Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, Adelaide audiences will get to witness the majesty and awe-inspiring voices of one of Europe’s most prestigious opera companies. Best of all, you won’t need to understand Italian. Subtitles are provided!!

Our resident opera lover and Arts critic Kym Clayton recently rated their season of the Royal Opera’s Cavalleria Rusticana/ Pagliacci a massive 8/10 and the Opéra De Paris production of La Damnation De Faust an impossible 10/10. Wow!
