Win a Double Pass to Clown Light Stage at The Adelaide Fringe

Clown Lights Stage is a quirky and touching solo show by Sydney based Alice Mary Cooper.

This multi-form performance is physical theatre meets spoken word and dance. It promises audience members a look at everyday objects in ways never imagined.

In the world of Alice Mary Cooper’s Ms. Clown, tampons are delicious, a spotlight is a nuisance, and metro tickets are the transport vessels for tiny people. Think BBC comedy, meets Amelie meets sweet French clown.

The show is a forty minute, solo piece, and has been received with much laughter and tears in its most recent sell-out performance at Shopfront Contemporary Arts and Performance in Carlton, South-West Sydney.

“The work speaks to people about the crisis our earth is facing whilst still being light enough to digest and enjoy.” Says Ms Cooper. “My clown is sweet and unassuming, faced with a big and unexpected challenge.”

This funny and thoughtful new approach to clowning should not deter the clown-afraid“….

Having a personal phobia about clowns, the appearance of Ms. Cooper with a Big Red Nose caused my heart to beat in trepidation. I was, however persuaded and ultimately seduced by the clever writing and charm of the performer….”
