What’s On This Week In Adelaide


We are fresh into 2018 and loving it! However, with the excitement of Christmas and the New Years over, don’t let your summer go stagnant!  if you are struggling to fill the next few days with fun-packed, fabulous activities to continue celebrating the hols, we’ve compiled a list of the exciting things that are on in the next week- I know, we are amazing.

Running all through December – 28th January – Urban Beach @ Pinkys Flat 

Pinky Flat on the Adelaide Riverbank has been transformed into a sandy oasis this summer for Adelaide’s first ever Urban Beach. With plenty to do for all ages, this is a must do if you haven’t already checked it out yet. Scrumptious food and drinks, water play areas, and summer sports are all on offer. So book in a yoga class as your kids play a game of beach cricket, and relax at the “beach.”

January 5 to February 17: Sunset Sessions

A free live music series on the Adelaide Festival Centre Riverdeck and Northern Promenade featuring some of Adelaide’s finest musicians, the Summer Sessions program runs across selected dates from Friday 28 December to 17 February. January 13 to 21: 2018 Santos Tour Down Under  

Attracting riders from all across the globe, this bike race is sure to take over our state is the greatest way possible. Make sure you visit their website for more details.

January 17 to March 9: The Moseley Beach Club

Come and enjoy South Australia’s first ever beach club, hitting the sand at Glenelg on January 17 through ’til April. The Moseley Beach Club will operate 7 days a week, with single lounges and day beds available to book. If you don’t want to book a sun lounge or daybed, you can still enjoy The Moseley Beach Club in their open casual dining areas, packed with picnic tables & bean bags and live music daily. A definite must-do this summer!

January 19: Willunga Farmers’ Market twilight market

Celebrate the Tour Down Under Stage 5 at this special event Friday night twilight Farmers’ Market from 5pm to 8:30pm. It’s bound to be be epic, and will include licensed areas!

January 19: Walk of Fame Gala

Presented by Adelaide Festival Centre, the Walk of Fame Gala will be a night to view the Riverbank promenade featuring names of stars who have graced the Adelaide Festival Centre stage over the years. To celebrate, the Gala will include an incredible line-up of performers including Tim Minchin, James Morrison and the Australian Dance Theatre and will be emceed by the always-entertaining and charismatic Todd McKenney. January 19 and 20: Schützenfest 2018

Adelaide’s famous German Shooting Festival is back in 2018 at The German Club. There will be traditional German fare including our famous Schnitzels, Pretzels & Currywurst, along with bars stocked with imported German beers, wine & Schnapps.

January 20: Bottomless Brunch at Electra House 

Electra House is hosting a Bottomless Brunch in late January, to help to remind us that while we might have gone back to work, there are still reasons to indulge ourselves in some of life’s best offerings… food and alcohol. With 12pm and 2pm sitting times available, reservations are essential and you can make a booking via eventbrite. With a $65 ticket you will be able to enjoy a three-course meal and an endless supply of spritzes, prosecco, Bloody Marys and Mimosas for the duration of your sitting.

January 20 – 27: Twilight Racing 

For the first time, South Australia’s home of racing, Morphettville Racecourse, together with the Gawler Barossa Jockey Club, will play hosts to a new series of Twilight Racing this January! Kicking off with the gateway to the Barossa, the stunning Gawler Racecourse will host the first week of the Twilight series on January 13. Morphettville Racecourse will then bring it’s racing A-game to back-up the series with two more weeks of Twilight racing on January 20 and 27.

January 21: Fork on the Road – Tour de Fork

Tour de Fork is ready for Stage 6 of the Tour Down Under. With food trucks gathering at Elder Park from 11 am to 4 pm to feed the masses.

January 23: Foo Fighters feat. Weezer

American rock bank Foo Fighters are returning to rock stadiums across Australia with local opening acts, and we will get our glimpse on January 23 at Coopers Stadium. If you haven’t already bought your tickets, then you can do so now… if there are any tickets left, that is!
