“In our Risky Roads campaign, almost 4,000 people told us which roads across South Australia they thought were in greatest need of repair and the Bute to Kulpara Road placed third,” said Mark Borlace, Senior Manager Mobility and Automotive Policy.

“Improving the poor condition of this road was one of our top priorities at the last state election, and we have had many discussions with various ministers and state government representatives since.

“This funding is long overdue but very much welcome.

“Roads like the Bute to Kulpara Road are a life line for our rural communities.

“Not only are they vital to those who need to use them every day, they are also well used by tourists and holiday makers.”

More than 20 kilometres of road will be resealed between the Copper Coast Highway and Millard Road.

The State Government has committed more than $9 million in total for the three-year project.

“While it’s great to see this funding commitment for the Bute to Kulpara Road, there are still many roads that need to be improved,” said Mr Borlace.

“We’ll continue to push the State Government to secure further funding for South Australia’s regional road network.”
