Aussie Farmers Direct will start airing a cheeky TV campaign in SA next week, aimed at getting South Australians to think about where their food comes from.

Aussie Farmers Direct CEO Keith Louie said the commercial poked fun at major supermarkets’ tendency to import fresh food from overseas, such as fruit, vegetables and, in one infamous case, Irish bread.

“We know South Australians are passionate about supporting local growers and producers, and so is Aussie Farmers Direct. We made this ad to hopefully give people a bit of a jolt, and remind them that shopping at the big supermarket chains isn’t the best way to support local Australian farmers and food producers,” Mr Louie said.

Aussie Farmers Direct is an Australian online food and grocery pioneer, having now chalked up 10 years in business. Aussie Farmers Direct sources only 100 per cent Australian fresh produce, with no imports and a fair price for farmers.

“From small beginnings in Victoria 10 years ago, we’ve now grown to have over 130,000 customers across Australia, and a network of local franchisee delivery drivers. We started in South Australia in 2010, and seen our business grow steadily. Our customers love the fact that we support South Australian growers and food producers, and bringing this great local food straight to their door,” Mr Louie said.

The Aussie Farmers Direct commercial will air on Channel 7 from Sunday 9th August. Check out a preview of the commercial below.
