Walk A Mile In My Boots

Have you ever wondered what it feels like to sleep rough during winter?

In support of Homelessness Australia’s National Homeless Persons' Week, the Hutt Street Centre in Adelaide will hold its annual fundraiser “walk a mile in my boots” on 5 August 2011 to help create a better understanding of the realities and challenges of homelessness.

The Hutt Street Centre invites you to join its staff, sponsors and clients, celebrities, sporting organisations, businesses, schools and the general public to “Walk a mile
in my boots” – an event designed to build awareness of homelessness, and to raise funds to support the work of Hutt Street Centre.

The event will be held on Friday August 5 2011 at 7.30am. Rain, hail or shine we will be walking from Rundle Park on East Terrace to Park 18 on the corner of South Terrace and Hutt Street where you will be met with a delicious BBQ breakfast and warm cup of tea.

Last year the event raised over $50,000 and was supported by 1500 participants.

In 2011 we’d love to increase numbers and get more organisations and individuals within the CBD and wider community on board.

“Walk a mile in my boots” is a wonderful opportunity to get your office, business, school, family or sporting group together to make a difference.

Encourage awareness of homelessness, because we all have a story.
