Yesterday’s Adelaide Fashion Festival Variety on King William luncheon was really something.

King William Road was cordoned off for yesterday afternoon for the Variety on King William event. Hundreds of style savvy South Australians dined in the warm Spring sun, soaking in both the rays and the effervescent atmosphere.

The day began with a garden party, where guests were treated to drinks and canapés, before the flower encrusted doors leading to the spacious outdoor dining area swung open. Once seated, the event began with a Peugeot launch, in which new Peugeot 308s were driven down the runway, followed closely by the Variety Bash Parade.

Between the first and second courses (Barramundi by Farjah and then steak by Parisi’s. Oh, and they were both absolutely delicious if you’re wondering) the fashion parades began. The huge parade featured garments by Denim & Cloth, Baby Bien, Flourish, Eco D, Move Over Menswear, The Arc Clothing Co, BIBI Boutique, Original Sin, Move Over Menswear, Designer Exchange, My House & Home, Denim Iniquity, Muse, Wild Child and Liza Emanuele, and were modeled by both men, women and (ridiculously adorable) children. The camaraderie between the adult models and younger models was something to behold, and was quite possibly even a highlight of the day. Also, the brilliant parade playlist is worth an honourable mention- daring to play Iggy Azalea and Gwen Stefani at such a sophisticated lunch? Respect.

When the parades were over and the desert was had (again, if you’re wondering, the panacotta by Mulot’s Patisserie and mint & vanilla tart by By Blackbird were both delicious), guests headed to any of the number of after parties hosted at restaurants on King William.

All in all it was a fabulous day, in every sense of the word. Food, fashion, people and vibe: Variety on King William was the ultimate fashion event, done the Adelaide way.
