For today only from 11am-5pm, Uber allows you to have the taste of summer delivered directly to you at the tap of a button. Uber have partnered with Gelato Messina, voted Australia’s best gelato and featured on Masterchef, to make sure your day at the office, school, or home is as sweet as can be.
On any other day, Uber lets people order a car at the tap of a button to find a ride in minutes. Users in Sydney or Melbourne today use Uber to request anything from a stylish BMW 7-Series for date night, to an efficient Toyota Prius for a quick trip to the shops. Originally launched in San Francisco in 2010, Uber have expanded quickly around the globe, now operating in 130+ cities across six continents.

Download and register the Uber app on your Android device or iPhone, select the “Ice Cream” option, and if there is a truck available you will be eating Gelato Messina within minutes. Ice cream trucks will be roaming the CBD and North Adelaide. Demand is expected to be extremely high, so if all the cars are busy, keep trying!
Ice-cream delivery is one example of how Uber is building a ‘digital mesh’ to make cities easier to use.
Uber’s car booking service had not yet launched in Adelaide, but it is actively recruiting a marketing and operations team now (see uber.com/jobs). Uber is backed by Google and recently raised $1.2b to bring its technology to every major city in the world. Adelaide is well overdue to be Uber.
