The perfect accessory this Spring? On trend makeup… Now that Spring seems to have made up its mind to stick around after a few false starts, we have put together a list of the top Spring trends in makeup and how to achieve the looks.
So clean up those brushes, prep your skin and empty your cosmetic bag because here they are:
Pretty In Pink
With florals again being showcased in fashion this spring, a pretty pink pout is the perfect partner. The softer hue is right in line with the fuss free tone of the season. It’s all about being feminine and pretty. Perhaps you wish to stop at a pink lip, but why not also try a soft pink eyeshadow, or for even more impact a darker shade of pink like a deep, dusty rose. These shades look gorgeous on all eye colours but can really make a blue or green eye pop.
Flushed cheeks also add to the feminine look with a rose blush applied to the apples of the cheeks.
Step 1. Apply a soft neutral shadow across the entire lid like a vanilla or soft pink.
Step 2. Apply a deeper shade of pink along the lash line and blend upwards in a circular motion to soften.
Step 3. Use a white pencil to line the inner rim of the eye (water line) this makes the eyes appear brighter and lighter.
Step 4. Use a soft pink or champagne shadow to line under the eye.
Step 5. Apply 2 – 3 coats of mascara to give the lashes a lift and define the whole eye area.
Chocolate smokey.
Chocolate Smokey
This season think a smokey sultry eye, but using tones of chocolate rather than grey or black. This can still create a beautiful sexy look but is just that bit softer, not so harsh.
Step1. Apply a soft neutral colour to the entire lid,
Step 2. Apply a dark chocolate shadow along the lash line stopping just at the eyelid crease. Using a bullet brush blend the shadow upwards using a circular motion so there are no harsh edges.
Step 3. Using a soft kohl liner in either chocolate or black line along the top and bottom of the eyes and blend along the lashline for a smudged look.
Step 4. Use some of your chocolate shadow to smudge over the kohl for a softer line.
Step 5. Coat the lashes with a few coats of mascara wiggling the mascara wand from the root to the tip of the lashes.
This look is best paired with a neutral lip in either nude or soft pink.
Colour POP lip
This season a bright lip is back. Paired with a barely there eye makeup, this is a bold statement and can be in a bright fuchsia pink, red or orange.
To create the perfect pop lip.
Step 1. Make sure the lips are exfoliated and moisturised.
Step 2. Foundation and powder the lips for a perfect base.
Step 3. Line the lips for definition.
Step 4. Apply the lipstick with a lip brush for precision.
Step 5. Blot with a tissue and reapply for a long-lasting pout.
A pop of colour on the lip is the perfect look for Spring.
