thrift shop treasures and the sounds of vintage vinyl, Thrift Shop Bar is launching tonight to much anticipation.
The first Adelaide venue to offer an all-Australian craft spirit & cocktail list Thrift Shop Bar is the latest addition to Adelaide’s small bar scene. Serious about sustainability, Thrift Shop Bar makes its own cola from scratch and are keen supporters of local producers and businesses.
Thrift Shop Bar will be an ever-revolving cellar door through our Winery/Brewery in Residence program. Every two months they’ll work with small producers to showcase local beer and wine at the bar. They’ll also hold regular tastings & events, bringing the cellar door experience to the city, and make wine available for takeaway at cellar door prices (or you can add $15 corkage to enjoy at the bar).
A simple bar snack menu features fresh local produce including marinated octopus, cheese & charcuterie boards & a toast menu to satisfy the late night munchies.
The bar team is headed up by Bar Manager Jaime Fraser who hails from Scotland. Fresh from a stint at Assembly in Sydney, Jaime knows a thing or two about whiskey & thinks that our Aussie whiskey is world class. Head Bartender Michael Barendregt has travelled the globe in pursuit of the perfect cocktail, with bartending stints in New York & Japan. Enjoy sipping their crafted cocktails from vintage crystal ware while classic beats play from vinyl on the Op Shop sourced 1970’s radiogram.
Why Thrift Shop Bar? Obviously from a love of fossicking through Adelaide’s Op Shops, supporting charity and lowering their carbon footprint at the same time. They have recycled, up cycled & sourced vintage finds for pretty much everything in the bar.
Opening Hours: Wednesday to Saturday 4.30pm-Late.
