Australia’s largest and oldest ANZAC Day street festival, ‘The ANZAC Day Street Party’ will celebrate 40 years when the event is rolled out on April 25th.

Proud host, Union Hotel Managing Director, Piers Schmidt said: “South Australians have been flocking to the annual ANZAC Day Street Party at the Union Hotel in Waymouth Street for 40 years and the party never disappoints.

“With over 2000 people converging on Waymouth Street, the event celebrates our ANZACs and honours the tradition and spirit of diggers.

“The Street Party was originated by old vets grabbing a drink in The Union pre and post the march and then leading the celebration to the streets, which makes this the best celebration for any and all Australians who wish to revel in their freedom and the nation’s pride.

“The street party spreads over Waymouth Street, from Topham Mall to Young Street and is a staple for Adelaide diggers and the perfect way to celebrate ANZAC Day, with music, food, and lots of cold beverages.”

The event will boast a variety of entertainment with vital funds benefiting Legacy.

Mr Schmidt said: “Diggers old and young will be thick on the ground enjoying entertainment from Graeme Cornes Allstars, Bay Big Band, SA Pipes and Drums, and Mt Barker Pipes and Drums.”

The festivities will last 10 AM from Monday 25 April until well past midnight.

Guests are invited to tuck into the Legacy sausage sizzle and laminations, award winning pizza from Little Adelaide Pizza Co. pizzas and the famous Union Hotel Burgers.
