Picture House Entertainment, who broadcast the Royal Shakespeare Company productions Love’s Labour’s Won and Love’s Labour’s Lost into Australian cinemas earlier this year, will be beaming The Merchant Of Venice direct from Stratford-Upon-Avon to Australia. Directed by award winning Polly Findlay (Arden of Faversham), the play has earned rave reviews in the United Kingdom.
The Merchant of Venice opened at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-Upon-Avon in May this year, and now audiences in Australia will have the opportunity to see this outstanding production of Shakespeare’s uncompromising tragedy.
Broadcasts of Royal Shakespeare Company performances offer an intimate experience to cinema audiences, who can feel right in the heart of the action.
The Merchant of Venice screened in UK cinemas on the 22 of July and will hit Adelaide’s Palace Nova Cinema on August 22nd and 23rd.
