Fall under the spell of arguably the most famous dancer of all time in A Fine Romance; the Magic of Fred Astaire, a rendition of Astaire’s dancing, music and many leading ladies.
A Fine Romance delivers the old-world glamour and charm of the era with plenty of toe-tapping tunes and legendary dance routines. The audience is taken from Astaire’s humble beginnings on Broadway to his Hollywood days with plenty of onscreen romances along the way with leading actresses of the day including Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, Audrey Hepburn and Rita Hayworth.
The iconic dance routines Astaire was so famous for have been re-created by choreographer Jeremy Hinman, who also put together entertaining dance routines in the recent production of California Dreaming – the Music of the Mamas and Papas.
“I am delighted to be able to share some of Fred Astaire’s magical style and flair with audiences across Australia and to honour the man who has been such an inspiration for myself and so many others,” said Hinman.
The leading role is performed in style by Adelaide local Joe Meldrum who lists performing in the 2015 Australian Tour of the BBC’s Dr. Who Symphonic Spectacular among his credits.
As Fred Astaire said “Do it big, do it right and do it with style” and join us for a Morning Melodies performance filled with fabulous music, extraordinary dancing and a dash of Fred Astaire’s own charismatic charm.
