The Fringe And Feast Hit Semaphore For A Fun Filled Family Event

Get your Fringe and Feast on at this epic Sunday sesh!

The Adelaide Fringe will be making its way to the Semaphore foreshore as the Semaphore Mainstreet Association and Feast Festival bring us Feast on the Foreshore!

This free family event will be a day jam packed full of fun activities, hosted by the illustrious, drag queen sensation, Princess Laya.

You can show off your cooking skills as you take part in the Cake Competition which will be judged by former My Restaurant Rules winner and owner of Lickerish on Semaphore Road, Justine Hall, along with the Owner/Chef of the Red Lime Shack in Port Adelaide, Steph Taylor. There will be three categories: Best Taste, Most Queer (of course – this is a Feast party after all) and Most Original.

Or why not get your dog involved… Yep, bring your precious pooch along and enter them into the Dog Show. They will go in the running to win the crown and there are great prizes for Best Outfit, Looks Most Like Their Owner and Best Trick.

“We are very excited to be working with the Feast Festival,’ says Gail Rogers, Chairperson of the Semaphore Mainstreet Association.

“It is going to be a fabulous day in Semaphore for the whole family.”

Fresh 92.7 will be on the decks providing the sounds for the day, creating the ambience for foreshore goers who will be spoilt for choice with the delicious tastes of local food vendors, tempted by artisan wares, vie for victory in the infamous Feast Tug-Of-War, and go wild in the Colour Dance.

And the kids haven’t been forgotten, with carnival rides and a reptile stall that will capture the curiosity of the youngest family members.

Feast will debut its latest visual art concept THESE BOOTS ARE MADE FOR WALKING, a visual art display where you can learn about the experiences, dreams, ambitions, or something related to the LGBTIQ community members through their shoes.

“We are so excited to bring a free family-friendly event to Semaphore. It is a wonderful area and a great way to start off the Feast festivities for 2016,” said Feast General Manager, Cassandra Liebeknecht.

“The continued support of Port Adelaide Enfield Council and working with the Semaphore Mainstreet Association is fantastic, because we are all driven to bring these types of events to the community so that everyone can enjoy them,” said Cassandra.
