The Espresso Martini 6 Ways: Thank You Electra House!

It’s cold. It’s almost the weekend. It’s Espresso Martini weather. And Electra House have 5 new takes on the classic you really should go out of the way to try. All at once.

What a time to be alive folks. We currently live in a world where you can buy a drink that mixes the two most socially acceptable forms of addiction into one magical concoction! No wonder pretty much everyone likes to get stuck into an Espresso Martini. Coffee and alcohol together. It’s like watching one of those perfect soap opera marriages where we just cry and laugh with happiness while we’re watching is being poured before our very eyes.

Then, just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, or more addictive for that matter, along come Electra House to add five brand new twists on this classic cocktail. So what exactly have they done? It’s a bit like when you decide to look at the Tim Tam recipe. It’s already perfect, right? Well, that’s what you’d think until you buy all the types as once and sit moaning to yourself as each new flavour is better than the last. You feel us? Here’s what we mean:

To begin, there is the Choc-Mint Slice. They tried out a martini with some of the other Arnott’s biscuit styles but decided that BBQ Shapes just didn’t have the right ring to it. Plus no one likes those little red and green bursts of flavour stuck into your teeth. Then we move onto the Buttermilk Blueberry Pancake, which is just light the light and fluffy patties of delight we love as part of the perfect balanced breakfast… except you probably shouldn’t drink in the morning.

The Give It A Chai is an inspired invention because coffee has been done time and time again. The delicious play on words aside, it truly separates this cocktail from the coffee snob society. You know, that obnoxious guy ordering an extra shot, no foam, soy almond milk, something something? Drink this and he’ll leave you in peace. Then on entirely the other end of the spectrum, there’s the Triple Exxpresso, for those nights when your date is so boring they’re putting you to sleep but you’re curious what they’d look like without their shirt on, so you want to stick around…

But perhaps the true artwork in all of this (very similar to Tim Tam actually), is the Warm Salted Caramel. Yes you heard that correctly. Just plug it directly into our veins immediately please.

On top of that, Electra house are also offering their classic, which is still delicious. But as Eddie Murphy once said, if you eat the same cracker every day, and someone hands you another one to try, there’s not much to get excited about. And while he definitely said that with another context in mind (yes, this is a ‘Raw’ reference), it can be applied to drinking all the same. These drinks do come with a warning though; you may not be able to sleep again after this amount of caffeine.

Pop by Electra House, 131-139 King William Street in town and get your drink on this weekend!
