The Cat’s Out Of The Bag At Solitaire Automotive

The new Solitaire Automotive Jaguar and Land Rover showroom played host to more than 200 brand enthusiasts and owners on hand to see the new “world standard” premises.

And a big cat – the new Jaguar XF – stole the show.

“This is a pure Jaguar,’’ Solitaire Automotive Group general manager David Smoker said.

“It has a lot of striking lines. You look at it and straight away you say ‘yep, that’s definitely a Jaguar’’’

Land Rover sales manager Nigel Von Sanden said his new work domain was an inviting environment for people.

“People comment that they enjoy coming to see us and the experience here,’’ he said.

“To me, it’s kind of a way of life. It’s a family of customers and that’s the way we try to operate… as a helpful part of that family.’’

As Jag enthusiasts pawed over the new beast taking pride of place in the newly overhauled showroom – built seven years ago and now updated to match the best Jaguar sites in the world – Mr Smoker told how the Solitaire Automotive success story reflects a positive and upbeat Adelaide.

“We love to see if something in Adelaide – little Adelaide – can set the pace for the rest of Australia,’’ he said.

“We’ve been doing this for a while now (about 27 years). We enjoy it and we’re good at it.

“Our customers are optimistic, positive people. There’s a lot of positivity in this town and we are happy to be a part of that.’’

Just how that positivity looks for Solitaire Automotive Group on paper is pretty impressive. Last year the Hawthorn-based group sold “about 3600” vehicles across its range of brands.

The stunning Solitaire Automotive Jaguar and Land Rover showrooms are located at 32 Belair Road, Hawthorn.
