One of the most excited fans will be celebrity local Andrew ‘Cosi’ Costello who is throwing his support behind the music festival.

“I cant wait to see my home town host all these big names and the fact it’s being held on the footy oval where I used to play is even better,” he said.

“The Big Gig is huge for the Yorke Peninsula, and it is a great opportunity for the local community to really work together and put on a show which is of a national standard.

“If we pull this off, there’s a chance it could become an annual event, which would be a massive boost to the local economy and really put Kadina, and the Yorke Peninsula, on the map as a great place to visit.”

Costello, who grew up in Kadina, will MC the outdoor concert.

“The Big Gig will definitely be the biggest event in Yorke Peninsula’s recent history and I’m looking forward to getting everyone up and dancing,” he said

“October Long Weekend is always a great time for those living on the Yorke Peninsula and for thousands of visitors.

“Now there is really something to bring the community together and get excited about.”

The Big Gig, which will raise funds for local organisations, has been organised and supported by sporting clubs and the local council.

The event, which is fully catered, runs from 3pm to 11pm at the Kadina Football Oval.
