Make-A-Wish GalaThe annual Make-A-Wish Gala Ball is back again this year in Adelaide and helps raise money to this well deserved fundraiser.

Make-A-Wish Australia has granted over 8,000 wishes to children with life threatening illnesses. Make-A-Wish foundation gives seriously ill children hope for the future, strength to face the challenges of their illness, and joy from their incredible wish experience.

During the night, gala guests will be treated to a gourmet three course meal, unlimited drinks, live entertainment, and for every ticket sold, the ticket number will go in to the draw to win double return airfares and accommodation to Paris.

Christine Mossop, Chair of the Make-A-Wish Adelaide Gala Ball Committee, says, “With each wish equating to approximately $5,000.00, the Adelaide branch of Make-A-Wish grants an average of 35 wishes per year, with the Make-A-Wish Gala Ball a massive contributor.

“Having now granted over 700 wishes at the Adelaide Branch (7,000 nationally) since inception in May 1986, the gala ball is our major fundraising event to grow these numbers and grant more valuable wishes to help seriously ill children fulfil their dreams and escape the more difficult side of their lives,” says Christine Mossop.

International research shows that wishes granted by Make-A-Wish have a significant positive impact on the health and wellbeing of wish children. 97% of parents surveyed observed a noticeable improvement in their child’s mental and emotional health following the granting of their wish. Physical health was also seen to improve in 75% of cases.

Expecting over 600 guests including VIPs, socialites, celebrities, media, and philanthropists, the night aims to raise over $150,000.00 for Make-A-Wish to help grant 30 children with a life threatening medical condition their cherished wish; providing magic and joy for them and precious memories for their family.

“After a sold out year in 2014 and raising over $137,000.00 with a target of $100,000.00, we look forward to another successful year for a fantastic cause,” says Christine Mossop.
