TED Talk Comes To Adelaide Cinemas

For the first time in cinemas the public will have the opportunity to experience the “opening night” of TED’s legendary annual conference & VIP audience.

For the first time ever in cinemas, the general public will have the opportunity to experience the “opening night” of TED’s legendary annual conference, alongside its equally legendary VIP audience.

The event will take place on 15 February 2016 in Vancouver, Canada and will be captured live for Australian audiences to experience on 2 March at Event Cinemas Marion, the Palace Nova Eastend Cinemas, and Hoyts Norwood.

TED2016Hosted by TED’s curator Chris Anderson, the theatrical screening of this event will feature world-renowned thinkers, artists and storytellers who will share their “ideas worth spreading” about the greatest dreams we are capable of dreaming. What emerges is a spirit of wonder and optimism that represents the world at its best.

The heart of the program will consist of a succession of extraordinary speakers – drawn from artists, inventors, adventurers, global leaders, and visionaries – who will deliver the “talk” of their lives in the world-famous TED 18-minute format. Impromptu on-stage interviews, spectacular artistic performances and imaginative short films will be interspersed throughout the program.

The speaker line up comprises:

  • Ishita Katyal – writer
  • Astro Teller – Entrepreneur, inventor, author
  • Shonda Rhimes – writer and producer
  • Dan Pallotta – Charity defender
  • Riccardo Sabatini – scientist, entrepreneur
  • AR Rahman – composer, musician
  • Bill T Jones – director/choreographer, dancer
