Synagogue Place To Welcome Haçienda This June

The cultural cross-pollination on Synagogue Place continues with a the Spanish influence of Haçienda to be revealed this June.

Those of us who have visited new Synagogue Place resident Mary’s Poppin since their April debut will have noted that the venue is up stairs. Which begs the inevitable question, what’s below?

The answer appears to be yet another small bar for the East End of town, with Haçienda (literally translated ‘House’) announcing they will be opening on June 4. The new venue promises separate settings for a small bar and a club that will fit around 400 people utilising some of the old Apple Bar space. Designer Michael Delany (also responsible for Mary’s) settling upon Spain as his reference point for the downstairs affair. Early features leaked to the public include a herringbone brick floor and a bar made up of a collection of vintage matchboxes. A pastel exterior has already dressed the location in a distinctive palette, while the club is set to house South Australia’s largest mirror ball, which seems a delightfully kitsch match for music programming that is promising to pop, funk and RnB.
