Ever thought you should be laying by a pristine beach in the Philippines instead of sitting at your desk? Want to brush up your seafood eating skills? Go surfing? Fine tune your lounging around skills? Well here’s your chance.
The Philippines’ largest airline, Cebu Pacific, is now accepting enrolment applications for the founding class of its Beach Bum Academy. This is the opportunity of a lifetime for 18-24 year old Aussie residents planning their next summer uni break or eager to go on an all-expenses paid holiday by the beach.
Interested beach bums can register through www.cebupacificbeachbums.com until November 20, 2016.
At the competition’s conclusion, three lucky Aussies will be chosen travel to the Philippines with a friend from February 5 to 11, 2017. The prize includes three days at the Cebu island “campus” and three days at the Siargao island “campus,” where winners will learn the key skills needed to be awarded their degrees in beach bumming: surfing, exploring, socialising and of course relaxing!
Entry is simple: hopeful participants must record a video entry with their travel buddy, upload to a personal website or YouTube page and enter the link with their details in an online registration form at www.cebupacificbeachbums.com. Entrants must ensure their availability before entering competition.
By promoting enrolment for arguably the “world’s best university,” Cebu Pacific aims to promote fun and affordable travel to the Philippine islands, for school leavers and university students during the main summer holiday period.
One of the world’s best beaches, Cebu will host classes on underwater studies, island exploration and sunset socials, while Siargao, known as one of the top 10 best surf spots in the world, will host classes on advanced surfing, lounging lab and seafood 101.
Winners will also have the opportunity to explore each campus during their downtime from studying.
The Siargao campus boasts year-round waves and tranquility; this is the best spot for some additional surfing study and extra credit in meditation and relaxation.
Exploring the Cebu campus will find students on white sand beaches, discovering spectacular dive sites and the lively bars and emerging eateries in Cebu City.
On the last day of the course, students of the Beach Bum Academy will partake in a graduation ceremony where they will be awarded with their honours degree.
