Xavier Rudd will headline this year’s Gorgeous Festival in South Australia’s McLaren Vale, supported by The Waifs and The Beautiful Girls who will both return to the stage after a hiatus.
The dynamic, roots-driven line up also includes Busby Marou, Little May, The Cairos and a trio of Candian acts in Elliott Brood, Kim Wempe and Tim Chaisson. Local acts include Timberwolf, The Timbers, Echo & Empress and Rin McArdle.
For the first time in 2014, Gorgeous will also introduce a long table dinner on the Friday night of the festival, which runs from November 28-29 at Serafino Winery.
Festival Director Alistair Cranney says the new-look festival broadens the appeal of the already popular event.
“Each year since our inception we’ve managed to secure fantastic musicians and we’re very excited to announce that, again this year, we have some of Australia’s leading soulful singers and songwriters heading to Gorgeous,” Alistair says.
“While we’ve always incorporated premium regional food and wine into our offering, we’re going one step further this year by introducing ‘Gorgeous Table’ on the Friday evening, details of which will be announced soon.
“As with other years, we’ll also be featuring live visual artists, exhibitions, cooking demonstrations and the wine tasting tent, plus a crèche where parents can drop off their children who will then be kept entertained with all sorts of kids’ activities.”
Jeremy Marou from band Busby Marou has given the festival the thumbs up.
“The Gorgeous Festival is one we really look forward to playing – not only is it one of the most beautiful festival sites in Australia, but it combines three of our great loves: food, wine and music!” Jeremy said.
“Alistair and Sally put their heart and soul into this event and we are very excited to be invited back to McLaren Vale in 2014.”
Tickets will go on sale in the coming weeks, beginning with mailing list members next Monday.
Two day passes and camping facilities will be available.
