South Australia Makes Its Debut At The 2017 Eurovision Song Contest

Graham Norton’s Own range including an SA Shiraz named the official wine partner of Eurovision 2017.

There is a new Aussie joining Isiah Firebrace to fly the flag at this year’s Eurovision: Graham Norton’s Own range of wines, made with New Zealand’s Invivo Wines, has been named as the official partner of Eurovision 2017.  The range includes Graham Norton’s Own South Australian Shiraz, a blend of grapes from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek, creating a big red that perfectly captures the Aussie spirit.
This is the first time that Eurovision has chosen a wine brand as a partner.
Eurovision, returning for its 62nd year on 13 May (grand final broadcast on SBS, 14 May, 7.30pm AEST), is whatwould happen if the X Factor and the Olympics were ever to procreate: a spectacle that the Aussies (who were invited to compete in for the first time in 2015) have made their own, with all-night viewing parties taking place across the nation in honour of the musical extravaganza.
No Eurovision party would be complete without wine. The range from Invivo Wines and Graham Norton, the competition’s UK commentator whose dry humour pairs perfectly with a dry white, is the perfect accompaniment to a night of Euro-weirdness.
Norton, who is famously seen sipping on wine throughout his chat show featuring heavy-weight celebs, and the team at the NZ-based Invivo Winery have scoured the Southern Hemisphere to create the finest blends. The range also includes the Graham Norton’s Own Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and the Graham Norton’s Own Pink By Design Rosé, which is a fresh and lively combination of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris grapes, also from the Marlborough region.
The Graham Norton’s Own brand has grown way beyond expectation, from a limited launch of just 12,000 bottles in 2014 to an expected 1.5 million bottles this year and now sold in 5 countries worldwide.  Recently, Norton’s Shiraz and Rosé won gold medals at the Sydney International Wine Competition. Norton blends his wine every year with guidance from the Invivo team and he is also a part owner of the winery.
Invivo’s cofounder, Tim Lightbourne says, “Eurovision is fun and doesn’t take itself too seriously, just like our values here at Invivo. We’re the ideal wine to go with crazy hair, outrageous dresses, way too many wind machines and more white suits than should be legal without a prescription.
Fans can purchase the official Eurovision Song Contest 2017 wines in Australia from BWS at current special 2 for $30, to raise their glass to another night of fabulous weirdness, and enjoy a drink with Graham himself.
The Eurovision Song Contest will be broadcast over SBS’s Eurovision weekend – Friday 12 May, Saturday 13 May, and Grand Final Sunday 14 May at 7.30pm on SBS with LIVE early morning broadcasts begin Wednesday 10 May at 5am on SBS. Watch the fun unfold with this years brand new hosts, radio personality Myf Warhurst and comedian Joel Creasey.
You can watch Graham Norton drinking his Graham Norton’s Own Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc with various celebrities every Friday at 8.30pm on TEN.
Invivo wines reminds you to drink responsibly.
