“The Harvest Festival is all about fun and family and celebrates all the region has to offer, from fresh produce, local wines, beers, as well as activities for everyone,” says Harvest Festival’s Co-Chair, Darlene Voss.

Patrons can channel their inner master chef, with the top cooks from around the region putting on the ultimate cooking classes. “Local chefs will hold intimate master classes, showcasing the region’s delicious produce, while giving guests a recipe to take home,” says Darlene Voss.

Rivalries are set to boil over at the ‘Celebrity Wine Spitting’ challenge when three-time winner, Tourism Minister Leon Bignell faces off against local brewer Jess Goodieson. The celebs will back it up with the inaugural ‘Celebrity Bottling’ challenge, where well known regional identities will team up with local wine makers to see who can fill and cork 24 bottles of red wine the fastest.

“Festival goers can see identities such as Brian Vaughton from The Masters Apprentice, South Adelaide’s new footy coach Gary Hocking and Onkaparinga’s mayor Lorraine Rosenberg in action,” says Darlene Voss.

While parents unwind with a delicious wine from the region, their children can soak up the fun at the ultimate Bendigo Bank Kid’s Zone. “Kids can enjoy a climbing wall, a giant slide, pony rides, farm yard animals and Evelyn Roth’s Nylon zoo,” says Darlene Voss.

‘The Circus Elements’ team will also keep the kids captivated with a day of workshops and roving demonstration. “The pros will show the kid’s how it’s done with lessons on juggling, plate spinning, stilt walking and even unicycling,” says Darlene Voss.

Entry is a gold coin donation with proceeds going to the McLaren Vale Hospital and local community. Book your tickets for master classes and workshops on: http://harvestfestivalmclarenvale.com.au/
