Shop The Barossa At This New One Day Christmas Specials Extravaganza

Barossa retailers have teamed up to bring you a unique one-day Barossa shopping experience, just in time for Christmas.

The Barossa may be renowned for its food and wine, but it is fast becoming recognised as an indulgent shopping destination.

Boutiques and homeware stores line the main streets of Barossa townships offering everything from cultural homewares and children’s toys to artisan jewellery, clothing and furniture, making it a unique shopping destination.

And now Barossa retailers have teamed up to bring you a unique one-day Barossa shopping experience, just in time for Christmas.

Shop Barossa – A Taste of Christmas will see over 30 retailers across the Barossa offer exclusive Christmas specials on Saturday, December 10, alongside indulgent and traditional bite-sized Barossa treats.

Retailer, Bridget Laucke of Alabaster Barossa said the Barossa is making a name for itself as an exclusive shopping destination with its range of high quality, diverse artisan and distinctive products.

“Shopping in the Barossa is not your average shopping experience, nor do we offer the same as everyone else. Shopping Barossa style is a more soulful experience. We take the time to make sure our products have integrity, and this also means supporting local makers and artists along much-loved designer brands,” said Bridget.

“We have an extraordinary range of speciality stores right across the region that offer products you simply can’t find in a normal shopping experience.

“Collectively as retailers, we hope this initiative will further strengthen the Barossa’s reputation as a major shopping destination, which is further enhanced by our world-famous food and wine.”

Shop Barossa presents a fantastic opportunity for locals and visitors alike. Meander along the streets, take in the scenic surrounds, browse the diverse retails stores and sample local produce.

Stay for the day and leave with your lists ticked and your tastebuds tantalised. Or why not make a day of it, or even stay for the weekend. There’s so much to do in the Barossa, from cellar doors, heritage sites, cycling paths, nature walks, restaurants, cafes.

Follow the walking map to discover the amazing promotional offers.

“This year’s Shop Barossa event is about recognising and acknowledging the Barossa as a unique and truly diverse shopping destination,” said Regional Tourism Manager, Cathy Wills.

“Whether you are part of the Barossa community looking to shop locally, or someone keen to escape the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan Christmas shopping crowds, then Shop Barossa is for you.”

From hand massages, free Christmas decorations with purchase, exclusive discounts and free gifts, there’s plenty of bargains to be had as you tick those items off your Christmas list.

And if the shopping promotions weren’t enough, there’s the added benefit of tasting the Barossa, with everything from homemade shortbread, scones, honey biscuits and traditional Christmas stollen to mettwurst, cheese, cordial and bubbles on offer to tantalise your tastebuds.

Shop Barossa is an initiative of Tourism Barossa and is supported by Regional Development Australia – Barossa.
