Shop Bowerbird Market With This Easy Mother’s Day Gift Guide

We’ve pulled together some of our top Mother’s Day gift ideas from 160 incredible Bowerbird stallholders to make shopping a breeze.

Bowerbird Design Market is back for its eighth year running with over 160 curated stalls from some of Australia’s best independent designers and makers. The three day market will kick off from Friday 5 May to Sunday 7 May at the Adelaide Showgrounds just in time for Mother’s Day.
If you haven’t been before, the stalls range from fashion, furniture, homewares, food and drink, jewellery to stationary – they’ve got just about everything. This makes it incredibly easy when your looking to buy a gift for someone but you’re not entirely sure what to get them. You could be exploring the stalls and find that something catches your eye, you might already know and love one of the stall holders or you might find that wandering around sparks some inspiration which leads you to the perfect gift.

Either way if the whole idea still makes you feel a little overwhelmed, don’t stress. We’ve got you.

Check out some of our top picks for mum that you can pick up at Bowerbird:

Bon Lux Candles

Candles are one of those things that everyone loves receiving as a gift because even though we all love them and feel great when we put one on, we generally don’t tend to buy them for ourselves. Or at least it’s the first thing you’re most likely to argue not really needing.

Bon Lux hand craft unique, layered perfumes; then blend them into scented soy wax candles, room sprays and room oil blends for the home from their Melbourne studio. They use sustainably farmed soy wax, locally sourced plant and essential oils, cotton wicks, hand blown glass, beautiful paper stock and locally printed illustrated packaging so you’ll also feel good about buying their products. For mum, why not go the full-size candle or grab the mini candle tin with a pack of the CUTEST matches?

Darling Paper Co.

Can you believe we’re basically in May already? The months are flying by and our lives are busier than ever. Help mum stay inspired with new stationery. The notepads and weekly calendars from Darling Paper Co. are stunning!

Darling Paper Co. is a boutique stationery studio based in the heart of Adelaide. Inspired by her love of endearing goods, travel, sustainability and (of course!) adorable squeeze-worthy bunnies and llamas, founder Meghan Yap designs and hand illustrates every product in her collection of whimsical paper goods.

Organics For Lily Tea

A cup of tea is like a nice, warm hug for the soul. Whatever leaf be your weapon, you can conquer bad days, heartbreaks, celebrate fabulous company, beat the flu and sleep better. It’s amazing what tea can do isn’t it. Now name a cuter tea collection than this…

Organics For Lily was founded by a naturopath/busy-mum-of-two who decided to combine her love of tea with her background in Naturopathy, and created a range of therapeutic loose leaf herbal teas to promote health, wellness & balance. Their blends are 100% organic and they even welcome custom blends. (We’re loving the test tube gift packs!)

WheatBags Love

Hoooo mama! Talk about next level relaxation. Imagine being all snuggled up in bed in winter with one of these gorgeous WheatBags Love wheat bags warming you up. Every product is handmade using all natural and organic materials. They also use subtle scents like lavender, clove and rose to make their wheatbags and eye pillows a little more special. We’re thinking this would be the simple yet perfect gift for mum.

Pana Chocolate

Chocolate is usually a easy, safe and reliable bet for most mums. But trust us, Pana Chocolate isn’t just any old chocolate. Pana Chocolate is handmade with raw, organic ingredients, it’s free from gluten, refined sugar, soy and dairy. At the same time it’s rich, velvety and mega indulgent. You might recognise these guys from Instagram for their drool-worthy raw desserts. Over the last couple of years they’ve gained a crazy following and once you try their stuff, you’ll know why.

South Australian Wine, Cider or Gin

Start celebrations early and grab a drink with mum at Bowerbird. There are plenty of food and drink stallholders like The Antipodes Gin Co. who will be providing a happy mix of neat, sophisticated organic gin, Lambrook Wines will provide the vino (and bottles to gift) and Three Oaks Cider. It’ll be a great way to do some shopping and hang out without any of the added pressure.

Jewellery

Treat your mum to a uniquely designed piece of jewellery, or give dad a nudge to buy her something special this year. At Bowerbird there are numerous jewellery stallholders ranging from outgoing and free-spirited to classy and sophisticated. This includes the eccentric and flamboyant designs by Renee Damiani, the simple sophistication of Days Of August or the elegant styling of Naomi Murrell.
