With this week marking the release of year 12 results around the country, school leavers – and their parents – will undoubtedly be focusing on further study options for the year ahead, looking to identify the best avenues to turn career dreams into a reality.

“The release of year 12 results is a time of trepidation, which for some will bring with it a huge sense of relief and for others – disappointment,” said Mr Chris Hill, Chief Operating Officer for Torrens University Australia.

“It is important for students to remember that these results – while important – should in no way limit your dreams. There are multiple pathways you can follow to achieve your ambitions. The most important thing is to have an idea of the direction you would like to head in, and to select an avenue which will not only provide you with the skillset required for your field of interest, but one that will arm you with the soft skills to assist you to achieve success in today’s increasingly globalised and knowledge driven marketplace.”

Torrens University Australia’s programs have been designed with this in mind – with programs developed in conjunction with industry and in response to market demand. In 2015, Bachelor programs will be offered in the fields of Commerce, Applied Public Health and Media Design.

The University’s fast-track program delivery – with study periods based on three trimesters per year – means students are able to complete their undergraduate degree in two years rather than three. Flexible delivery modes including on-campus (all undergraduate programs), online and hybrid (Bachelor of Applied Public Health) offer students a study format that best suits them, and our regional students are able to access world-class programs without relocating.

Employability outcomes and unique educational experiences are key to the development of the undergraduate programs, which include a guaranteed integrated international learning experience, industry placements and real-world projects.

“As Australia’s newest comprehensive university, Torrens University Australia has been designed to deliver the needs of today’s students, and tomorrow’s workforce – including real life, mentoring and networking opportunities,” said Mr Hill.

“This year – Torrens’ first year of operations – saw this commitment deliver the opportunity for our students to work alongside global business leaders, including Former Australian Prime Minister John Howard and former Marketing Director of Facebook, Randi Zuckerberg at the inaugural World Business Forum in Sydney; our Adelaide-based students be inspired by President Bill Clinton during the University’s commemorative opening; and our Bachelor of Commerce students meeting former British Prime Minister Tony Blair while in Malaysia for their trimester of international study.”

2015 at Torrens University Australia is already anticipated to bring with it a number of exciting announcements and opportunities for students, including the launch of a brand new campus – designed to facilitate group-work and hot-desking, and incorporating a dedicated design suite and innovation hubs for graduates – in Adelaide, as well as the launch of on-campus programs in Sydney and Brisbane delivered from shared Laureate International Universities campuses in Ultimo and Fortitude Valley respectively.

Prospective students enrolling to commence study in January 2015 can receive confirmation of admittance prior to Christmas. Scholarships – based on merit – are available for undergraduate students enrolling to commence in January 2015.
