As Australia shifts towards a knowledge driven, more globalised economy, demand for highly skilled and qualified professionals that can demonstrate soft skills and global perspective – as well as specific industry knowledge relevant to their field – has never been higher.

Torrens University Australia’s programs have been designed with this in mind – with program content developed to assist students in attaining the skills and knowledge to drive them forward in their chosen career path.

The University’s flexible and fast-track program delivery – with study periods based on three trimesters per year and study modes including on-campus, online and a combination of both – means students are able to structure their study to suit their lifestyle and complete programs in a shorter time period.

Torrens is currently offering the following scholarships for its September 2014 intake:

In the design of its programs, the University built on its keystone ‘Torrens You First Commitment’ which is centred on:

Flexible delivery methods – students (depending on their chosen program) can customise their experience by combining different modes of learning, such as online, on-campus or a combination of both.

Torrens LENS (Learn, Evolve, Network, Socialise) – unique to Torrens, the Torrens LENS uses social technology to help students and academic staff share ideas locally and around the global network, as well as provides access to the online library, virtual classrooms, text books and reference materials.

Industry connectivity –programs are designed in line with industry trends, insights and workplace demands, ensuring the skills students are learning are those most valued by prospective employers. Industry connectivity is brought to life through initiatives such as work-placements and Student Ambassador Programs – with nine Torrens students recently assisting key note speakers including former Prime Minister John Howard and former Facebook Marketing Director Randi Zuckerberg at the World Business Forum in Sydney.

Global perspective: creating programs which incorporate a global perspective, with a particular focus on doing business in the Asia Pacific region, is a key priority for Torrens. Representative of this, Torrens is the only Australian university which mandates a trimester abroad for undergraduates – with flights and tuition overseas included in standard program fees.
