Say Bonjour To Pirie Street’s New French Restaurant ‘La Provence’

Immerse yourself in everything that makes the French food great at this new authentic French restaurant.

The French are renowned for their food and wine. They’re also known for the quality of their food scene. Not only do they know how to cook they also know how to eat and being the foodie state that we are, we’d say we have a lot in common from that perspective. It’s little wonder that the appearance of brand new French restaurant, La Provence, on Pirie Street has caused a fair bit of excitement in the Glam Adelaide office.
What’s brilliant about La Provence is that it’s not a gimmick. The restaurant is run by French couple, Tarik Marco and Sandrine Maltret who moved to Australia in 2015 are the team behind La Mistral in Willunga. Tarik also happens to be the Executive Chef – so it’s fair to say that La Provence is as close to the real deal as we’re going to get. This is quintessential French cuisine right here. You’ll be able to immerse yourself in everything that makes the French food seem great, from ratatouille to duck l’orange, snails with braised oxtail to creme brûlée.
“The idea for La Provence has always been in the pipeline. We just waited for the right location and the right team,” Tarik explains.
“As the name suggest it will be very South of France cuisine. We will also visit some regions of France like Burgundy, Alsace and Normandie. Think French cuisine with contemporary and modern twist.”
While the decor is a work in progress, we have no doubt that their vision for a cosy, romantic place will be soon realised. If the beautiful glass light features and menu are anything to go by, La Provence will be a regular appearance in foodie circles in no time.
La Provence is open from Monday-Friday for lunch between 12-3pm and Monday-Saturday for dinner between 6pm-Late. CLOSED Sundays.
