Castles, trains, underwater worlds, street scenes and iconic bridges will be among the exhibits on show when the Adelaide Convention Centre hosts South Australia’s biggest LEGO fan event – Brick-a-laide – next month (April 3 and 4 – Easter weekend).

The visually spectacular event will feature the work of local and interstate modellers and creators, with California-based, internationally renowned LEGO Artist and Instruction Author Mariann Asanuma set to make a special appearance.

More than 50 exhibitors and 60 displays will fill the Adelaide Convention Centre’s halls for the two-day event, with traders also on hand for those keen to purchase some of the latest LEGO bricks and accessories.

Among the sights will be one of the last LEGO World Tour entrance ways from the 1980s, as well as two large-scale replica bridges – the Golden Gate Bridge and Sydney Harbour Bridge measuring 10m and 5m respectively.

A dedicated creative space will also be on offer to give guests the opportunity to create their own LEGO masterpiece using some of the greatest LEGO products.

Tickets are $10, with $5 entry for children under 16 and those under 2 entering for free. The event will be run in sessions, with the first session held at 8.30am and the last at 4.30pm on each day. Sessions run in one hour blocks – allowing visitors plenty of time to walk through the displays before stopping by the ‘Brick Café’ to relax, play with LEGO and grab some goodies to take home.
