The Festival will bring thousands of people to the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula, and festival-goers certainly have plenty to look forward to in 2015.

To be held at the Historic Goolwa Wharf Precinct from the 21st – 22nd February 2015, the spectacle will showcase a stunning array of wooden boats on the water from putt putts to paddle steamers, row boats to speed boats, and the always popular rough and ready boats.

But much more than just beautiful wooden boats, festival organisers have significantly increased off water activity for the 2015 event in the hope that socialites from all walks of life will find something to enjoy.

Gastronomy Galley will offer delights from paella to Indian, the Festival Bar will keep things chilled with local beer and wine, groovy beats will bring the main stage to life and the coinciding Goolwa Wharf Market provides an opportunity to take home an assortment of fresh produce, arts, crafts, clothing and much more!

Alexandrina Council Mayor, Keith Parkes, explains that the South Australian Wooden Boat Festival generates a massive amount of interest in our River Port of Goolwa.

“The South Australian Wooden Boat Festival is not just about boats, it is also about showcasing the top quality food and wine from our region.”

Visitors can also enjoy a public cruise on the iconic Goolwa Paddle Steamer Oscar W (now more than 100 years old) or on board the Paddle Steamer Marion of Mannum (built in 1897). Both will cruise from the Goolwa Wharf over the duration of the weekend.

Steamranger’s Cockle Train will also be operating services to Victor Harbor and back, another great experience.

When: 21-22 Feb

Entry to the Festival is just $10 for an adult weekend pass and children 15 and under are free.
