Did you know almonds grow in shells on trees? As you can probably tell, we don’t know much about farming either, so we sure didn’t. South Aussie musician Surahn Sidhu, of Empire of the Sun and Flight Facilities fame, and his wife Jessica bought an almond orchard last year, and they want you to help them mark the occasion.
To celebrate the launch of the Papershell Orchard they’re throwing a party filled to the brim with food, drinks and music, and it looks like it’s going to be a great day out in the beautiful southern suburbs of Adelaide.
For $75 you’ll get a three course lunch thanks to the supremely talented Andre Ursini (Andre’s Cucina / SBS ) showcasing fresh produce grown on site at Papershell, Willunga; entertainment from folk, funk and disco renegades Banjo Jackson, Ollie English and Sidwho?; and a glass of fizz on arrival expertly curated by celebrated wine journalist, Nick Stock.
The guys have even got your deso driver covered, with bus transfers available, so all of your mates will be able to enjoy a bottle or two amongst the beautiful surrounds. Those who attend the ‘food wine disco ‘ will also get an intimate first taste of a new event space, set amongst an almond orchard and nestled in the beautiful Willunga Hills, there’ll probably be no more unique place to party this December.
