SA Destinations Need Your Vote For New Australian Monopoly

Five South Aussie destinations are in the running to be featured on a new version of Australian Monopoly. And it’s up to the public to vote who make it!

Pass go, get your $200 Centrelink payout? Maybe not. Visit Cairns and pick up a slab of XXXX, or stop on Frankston and go jail…? Really, Australia needs our own bogan version on Monopoly and we really want a say in making it.

But until that’s a thing, we can all get excited for a new Australian version of Monopoly being made in 2017. And votes are not open for what will be included, with favourite locations from each state and territory being pulled together now!

Hasbro Australia, invited each state and territory’s tourism office to nominate five key locations and attractions people know and love. Only two or three destinations in each state or territory will make it onto the board and the final selection is being left entirely up to the Australian public. Voting goes live from November 1. The Australian public will be invited to log on to monopolyaustralia.com.au where they’ll be able to vote for their favourite locations and attractions, casting one vote, per state and territory, per day, to determine which destinations will achieve a spot on the all-new Monopoly Australia board – due for release July 2017.

So what have South Aussie’s got to choose from? Well, how about a stunning wine experience at The Lane in Hahndorf? Getting your 4WD bogged on a dirt track in the Flinders Ranges? Enjoying wine made from some of the oldest vines in the world at Henschke in the Barossa? Tasting fresh seafood caught the same day at the Port Lincoln Hotel or watching the Sea lions along the coast of Kangaroo Island?

Ideally, we’d love all 5 on the board, but we only get to pick 3. So South Australia, get ready to pick your favourite. Voters can also for other locations and attractions around Australia and the state or territory with the most amount of votes will secure the coveted dark blue Mayfair position. That spot should probably go to an SA icon.

To make your vote count go to monopolyaustralia.com.au from November 1, 2016. But hurry! Voting closes November 22, 2016.
