Rundle Mall Management Authority (RMMA) has officially appointed Amanda Grocock to the role of General Manager. Amanda brings a wealth of experience and detailed knowledge of the brand and state icon to the role following almost four years as the Mall’s marketing and events consultant.
“My passion for Adelaide is boundless and I relish the opportunity to be able to lead the Rundle Mall Management Authority and the stakeholders of the Rundle Mall precinct into the next phase,” Amanda said.
“As the first pedestrian Mall in Australia, Rundle Mall’s pedigree as a place of firsts is long held and a legacy I intend to build on.”
Amanda’s most recent achievement was the development and implementation of the ‘Unfold Rundle Mall’ brand and philosophy released in May 2015. Amanda’s previous roles have included Retail Manager of Centro Arndale, where she was responsible for managing seven commercial properties throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory, and Marketing Manager of many other Centro properties throughout Australia.
Rundle Mall Management Authority Chair Eric Granger congratulated Amanda on her appointment.
“Amanda has served an apprenticeship under current Lord Mayor Martin Haese, who was the initial RMMA manager and more recently with Ian Darbyshire who has done a wonderful job of developing Amanda’s skills to prepare her for this challenging role,” Eric said.
“We are absolutely delighted to have secured another highly skilled manager to take over this very diverse and challenging role. We know she will passionately represent the interests of our key stakeholders, retailers, landlords, business holders, visitors to the precinct and the Adelaide City Council”
Amanda will commence in the role from September 28 with a one-month handover period from current General Manager Ian Darbyshire.
